You know, upon reading the news, my first thought was, "Well, I hope he does go blind. I hate him, AND it means he can't use that fucking chalkboard." Then I imagined him trying to do it with some sort of braille interface and some...chalkboard writing robot and got lost in the tangent.

Most likely. Medical care and treatments aren't cheap. And he's likely to take a financial hit from this as well. Combine the two, and if he doesn't need insurance, he will, and they will consider it a pre-existing condition.

While I do not support his views and think him a vile, yellow journalist and a distorter of truth, I would not wish for him to go blind.

On the other hand, since there's nothing I can do to stop it, I might as well laugh if his insurance company refuses to insure him.

"We like you, Mr. Beck, we truly do, but we're afraid due to a series of fortunate loopholes in ouR contract and your pre-existing condition, we don't have to pay you a cent. Nyyaahhj!"

While I certainly don't wish blindness upon anyone(though, worse can be said of the wishes many in Beck's crew have made towards others), if he goes blind, so be it. If he doesn't, great, now we get political posturing about being right with god blah blah blah. If he does, as unfortunate as it may be, I will laugh heartily at him. Bad things happen to good people all the time, and to terrible people few-and-far-between. That is the real pity, so he will receive none from me.
