Koreans and Japanese don't date much, where I'm from. Don't assume Asian people aren't racist within their ranks. Some are. There's an entire hierarchy of more/less desirable ethnicities, beginning with the Japanese (or mainland Chinese, depending) and ending with the Hmong or Cambodians.

I thought there was a big thing in Japan with Japanese girls wanting Korean BFs/Husbands because of a Tv star.
Or did that end already ?

I swear Japanese girls go through so many fashions on types of guys to date.

I think Japan and Korea are starting to get along now they have accepted that they wont end up at war again.

We'll see how long this lasts. I think South Korea and Japan are having too much fun with Kim right now to pay attention to each other. Plus it looks very likely that the LDP is finally going to be out of power so...

yeah 2 years with the LDP out of power, then they cut a deal with the Japan communist party that lets them have a figure head prime minister.

I have no idea. I'm talking about first-generation Japanese and Koreans in California.

However, if anything can break stereotypes, I believe teenage girls with celebrity crushes are equal to the task.

Meh. In my personal experience, many women are quite arrogant/hostile towards men they don't like. Independently on ethnical issues.

But yet it happened with the Japanese socialist party. Which is why the JCP is the stronger of the two left parties today.

Well, this topic now has relevance to my life. I just now started a relationship with a black woman, and so far she's awesome. We've been having alot of fun together, talking, playing video games, and making fun of bad movies.

I am alittle worried about introducing her to my grandparents on my mom side though, they grew up in the Jim Crow era and hold fast to the mentality that we should keep to our own kind. So, the Holiday season and party should be fun.

Don't introduce her if you think they'll be jerks. The guy I went out with for 5+ years never met my grandparents on my mom's side--my grandmother's a racist jerk, and I didn't want to put him through that.

For a long time I was in a phase of wondering why Asian guys were too stuck up to date a white girl. Then I came to the realization that it was simply the men I was attracted to who were stuck up and it really had little to do with their race, aside from certain cultural fashions.

I've never openly dismissed a potential partner based on race (I have, however, on lack of physical attraction). Most generally speaking I've always been attracted to Asian men, or slender white men... until the wisdom fell on me that my attraction was based on which of that gender had the most feminine features.

Ahhh I see I was talking about Japanese and Koreans in Japan and Korea.
And it was actually 20 somethings not teenagers.
