I am not seeing a lot of Jesus in there... If they meant specifically Christian God, I would expect some references to "Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior," not "The Supreme Ruler of the Universe" or "the Great Legislator of the Universe" or the "Author of Existence."

Virginia is Christian, but most of those are at least accepting other forms of monotheism. Some of them would even make sense in the context of a polytheist religion.

A state could not ordain a religion:

First Amendment to the United States Constitution wrote:Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.


This, combined with the 14th Amendment applying the First Amendment to the states, neither the federal government nor any state government would be able to establish an official religion.
