(AP) Little people are calling on the Federal Communications Commission to ban the use of the word "midget" on broadcast TV.
The group Little People of America said Sunday the word is just as offensive as racial slurs.
The request was prompted by an April episode of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" that the group said was demeaning.
In the episode, contestants created a detergent ad called "Jesse James and the Midgets." The contestants, including Joan Rivers, suggested bathing little people in the detergent and hanging them to dry.
Calls to the FCC and "Celebrity Apprentice" host Donald Trump were not immediately answered Sunday. NBC Universal representatives didn't immediately respond to e-mail messages, and the telephone rang unanswered at their Los Angeles office.

Isn't the word "Midget" a technical medical term? Very much the way "Retard" is indeed medically correct?
People need to stop being so offended, or they need to line up for face punches.

Maybe you could find a place that will give you samples of their stools.

It was always one of my favorites. There was a short-lived inglorious phase where Steve Dallas was my role model. There was a strip that would have been perfect for this topic, that I couldn't find. Milo, Portnoy, and Hodge-Podge convince Opus that Portnoy has died, and that they've had him freeze-dried and put on the mantle. When Opus gets close enough, Portnoy(who's of course not dead)blows him a raspberry. Once Opus gets over having the bejeezus scared out of him, he tells Milo that it was a very cruel prank, "...but then, that's the sort of thing I'd expect from A DUMB, SHORT PERSON!"

That's was my initial reaction. but just as retard has changed over time and become an offensive insult the use of midget is also changing. Retard is no longer used in medicine, it had been replaced by other terms. It is being argued that the term midget should also be replaced.
