American mustard is too sweet, too thin and generally nauseating. English mustard is good on ham and steaks. Dijon is good in dressings, as is wholegrain. Generally, all mustard is good except American.

Spicy Brown Mustard. Yum.
Life's Short. Munch Tacos.

That's not true here, so I'd be creating an inaccuracy for others by making a change. Please substitute your own definitions to suit your replies, though - mustard is a huge category, and can't be put into neat little boxes: the poll is just for fun. Here, brown can be coarse or smooth, but is most often smooth.

You refer to "American Mustard" yet you choose to alienate "Brown Mustard" when a large population (the entire continental united states to my knowledge) uses such terminology to refer to coarse mustard.

Since when? Our brown mustards are not whole grain. Not even close.

I believe Emo Mustard is best at cutting the Mustard. None of the other mustards want to do it for some reason :p

Perhaps a visit to the Mustard Museum would help people make up their minds

Develey.
And specifically their sweet mustard.
"I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs. A very endearing sight, and as I watched, the mother otter dived into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged on to a half-submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature’s wonders: mother and children dining upon mother and children. And that’s when I first learned about evil. It is built in to the very nature of the universe. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior."

I've got a theory about English mustard... it's actual purpose is to knock out your taste buds for a few hours, so you can actually eat some of the food.

What does horseradish have to do with mustard?

But, regardless, it's the one I prefer. Even better is the grated wasabi, but it's a bit harder to come across, and not well suited to carrying with myself.
There is a line most people say they will never cross. It is usually something they have done long ago when they thought no one was watching.

A US tourist at a fair I went to was at the hotdag stand, he grabbed the (english) mustard and spread it on as he would with US mustard. His face when he took a bite was priceless :D

reminds me of a family reunion... a little boy in a high chair... and a bar of pure wasabi that was somehow left in his reach...
