Music these days.

Postby Dalarcya » Sun Jun 27, 2010 7:25 pm

Insufferable. A few good acts (Carolina Liar, Rammstein, The Killers, Coldplay..), but other than that, it's pure shit. Even though I wasn't alive back then, the 70's and 80's were much better in terms of music.

I am now looking for the high-profile assassinations of Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and other newbie musical acts (though not Miranda Cosgrove; she's not the best singer, but she's too hot to die.)

NSG? Thoughts?

I agree on those singer Justin Beiber and Miley Cyrus. But they will surely fade like the Jonas brothers, they didn't really last long.

But stay away from my Gorillaz, hate on them I kick your ass. :p

Love the Animated band, but I like the singer better, Damon Albarn.

Ever since Green Day made American Idiot, The White Stripes broke up, and pop music and rap became popular, it's been near impossible to find good music.

I fully agree with the ones I left alone, the ones in bold made me go "wtf? seriously?!" and the ones in italics sort of got a "meh". Metallica mostly got a "meh" because you referred to their work in the 90s. Their stuff in the 80s was good...

New U2 is worse than old U2. And old U2 was just kind of ok.

Also, has weezer stopped being bad? They were good on their first two albums and then they went downhill. And who is Keane?

Iron Maiden is still about and kicking, as is Rush. The problem isn't music these days, it's bands 'these days'.

I speak of the 00s, of course, the 90s had their bright spots.

I have the complete opposite opinion on the music scene than the OP does.

I literally don't listen or like anything put out before I was born, except for a tiny tiny bit of Hendrix.
Music has only gotten better in my opinion, matured, broadened it's horizons and pushed the limits of both skill, experimentation, and values. (Personally, I can't stand to listen to old bands and artist like rush and zep, mettalica, or stuff like that. Modern rap and pop don't even count as part of the music of my age imo)

Gorillaz
Mastodon
After the Burial
Carnifex
NIN
The Red Shore
WCWBT
...and many more I can name that put out music I like, and that I consider true inventive musicians.

Sound the horn and call the cry:
How many of them can we make die?
