If the question is about what influences me, I suppose a few things. I suppose I'm more democratic because of my mother, who I spend more time with than my dad. But I'm not too liberal probably because of him, because he's a conservative. As far as the media goes, I tend to watch CNN mostly but I do dedicate a fraction to Fox and MSNBC. I don't like the two though. As indicated by my name, I watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report very often. I also read the Washington Post, New York Times and Los Angelos Times a lot. But NSG has opened my eyes a lot too.

History and Time guide me. History teaches me mistakes, Time gives me a chance not to repeat those mistakes.

many factors guide me.

My parents, family, friends, events around me, history, etc...

why? my life interacts with others, what I do affects others, even if it's something as insignificantly seemings as how they perceive me.

hope you feel better soon Nanatsu.

But really, I try to rationalize random decisions I make. "Has this decision helped more than it has hurt (with approriate weightings for if I'm unsure)." Its not an exact science, but overall it helps keep me honest(-ish). Also I've found that discussion helps alot with personal philosophy. Argue with as many people as you can find who are as different as possible. Just my 2 cents.

This, precisely this. Our guides also affect the perception of others where it comes to us. That's why I have being introspective lately. I came to realize I was too rash and that's not good. Rashness cannot be what guides us.

Well, I just sit down and think about how what I'm about to do affects everyone around me, and think about whether it will harm other people. If it does, then I do that.

What guides me? Well, everything that has happened in my life to make me me, distilled in the form of my personality guides me. Obviously. but that's too pithy an answer. I'd say that what guides my decisions are a combination of factors dependent around how it will affect those I love, whether or not it's something I really want, and a certain calculating part of me that will add in how it benefits me regardless of any negative effects it has on someone else. If it all comes out as being a good course of action, I'll do it. By and large, I try and organise my life on a simple principle: Don't take anything except happiness seriously. Always work towards happiness, for myself and my partners.

He makes me retire and think more deeply before proceeding.

Why would you let your partner guide you? I don't get it. He's not there to do that. He's there to be with you. I don't think guiding should be part and parcel of the relationship. Guiding is something you leave to family, friends and religious advisors. But a SO? It seems a bit crazy to me.

I think the term you're looking for there dear is "Fuck-buddy". A significant other is something else entirely.
