I think that it would be just stupidity to consider any sport un-national or anything like that.

Alright fair enough.

Could've picked a more honorable team, like Liverpool :p

No. It's just not as popular here as it is in the rest of the world and there's nothing wrong with that.

Actually the reason why they think soccer is unamerican is because it isn't homosexual enough. You know it isn't a sport like American football where sweaty man jump on each other to get their hands on balls.

It is kinda odd we only have 3 European Cups considering how good we have been over the last two decades. That game against Barca was a farce =\

Ahh, I didn't realize that bids took place for both years at the same time. Hope the U.S. gets one of them. Would be kind of cool.

Maybe the Superdome won't be eliminated this time. :)

It's not in the list.

Unless there's another Superdome.

The Superdome is in New Orleans, right?

I'm hoping England 2018, Australia 2022, really.

Yeah, it is, damn, :(

I can't believe they were even considering Birmingham or Shreveport though,

I'd actually like to have a soccer team to support, the NFL offseason is too long, and I don't have any sports to watch during it, but, I just can't bring myself to care about anything not closer than Atlanta, plus they don't show it on tv here from that far away.

Soccer... as American as a Caramel Apple Empanada.

To replace the tired, old baseball/apple pie cliche.

No, I don't, I have a hard time staying interested in anything where I can get up and leave for 20 minutes, come back, and nothing's changed, :?

Really, that fact has been the major reason for baseball's decline in the US, not so great for tv audiences.
