Judging by your two options, I'll suggest go with the second one, if you like computer games. If not, go with the first one.

It takes about 2 hours and the whole thing is colour-coded and shaped so you can only put the right things in the right slots.

A McDonalds employee could do it.

Damn near broke my newest computer just a month ago. First by trying to move it from two points within a house (And messing up the monitor plugin), then by opening up and attempting to apply tape. Common sense is not a commodity I have large amounts of, so I'm told.

Don't insult google like that.
Skynet did not have full access to your e-mail and internetsearches, access to mobile phone systems to track your every movement in real life, picture recognition software that is able to find photos of you based on other photos of you so it also knows with whom you were where etc. etc. etc.

Skynet is rather amateurish ;)

I used the following book to build my own PC last year: it would be good reference if you do not mind reading books:

  • Build Your Own Computer: The Step-by-step Guide (Haynes, 2003), ISBN 978-1859609736.

I'm not really a techie but these are what I think.

I've read both of those 'evil corporation propaganda' and realized both of them doesnt come with an OS. Means you have to install the windows on your own, and if you choose for original that would cost you extra. But well, there's always alternative. (Giggle) Then, I have to ask why do yyou need a new computer? If you're like me, one of those gamers you should choose option 2 because it's with an Asus video card, that should be okay for most game these day, but I think there's some with higher capability. If you're not a heavy gamer, then option 1 will simply have to do then. Anyway, still if you dont have any other alternative and have to buy one of these, buy number 2.

I did learn that books were very useful since they were peer-reviewed by experts. Books aren't like Wikipedia.

By all means avoid the Starter and Home basic versions in my opinion: they're like trial-ware if you look from a certain angle.

Do you know what socialism is? Are you a member of the working class? What class produces? Which class takes that which it has not produced in exchange for bank notes?
