Postby Hanibar » Fri Jul 03, 2009 3:42 pm

Is Palin running for 2012? I've heard that she wasn't going to run for Governor anymore and if she is running for president, who do you think would win Obama or Palin?

We can't even wait until the midterm elections that we have to do this shit? Remember back in 2007 when everyone was so sure that it was going to be Guliani vs Clinton? There is no front runner because there is no race. The parties have to focus on 2010 and the midterm elections. The Republicans need to stop the bleeding and the Democrats need to hold their ground. After that the temperature of the water will have been measured and the horses will start making their way to the gate. Until then you might as well insist that my sock will be the next Republican candidate for president.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

I wish to know where your sock stands on the important issues facing America today.

Yes.

Will she be the Republican nominee?

Debateable, if not doubtable, unless the Republicans have a death wish.

I think its a little early to start in on the 2012 campaign already.

My belief is that there will be a democratic nominee, a republican nominee, and a smattering of third party candidates who most people will ignore running for president.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

If Palin gets the Republican nomination at least Obama will be will able to concentrate on the important matters rather than on his re-election campaign.

Please. America would have to become a third world country and a puppet of Iran for that excuse of a politician to unseat Obama.

Well, perhaps I exaggerate. But not by much.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

Eh. Obama's presidential campaign practically began before he had even occupied his senate seat. Not that I think it *isn't* too early, but there's precedent.

And no, I don't think Palin will ever be on a presidential ticket again. She doesn't have that kind of clout, at all and she offends the basic sensibilities of far too many Democrats and secular Republicans to be effective nationally. Novelty was her only asset, and that's been exhausted.
