Shelter in place efforts for fallout in the immediacy tell you to seal up your windows and doors and weight out the worst of it. Will my house avoid a blast or gamma radiation? Fuck no. Is it totally immune to the radioactive dust? No. Can I shelter in place until it's safe to go outside? According to the government reccomendations, yes. And I won't need to step out to fix something, either.

Interesting, I actually haven't read the government recommendations for fallout, Ill have to do that. I sort of assume that if nukes fall, the goal will be to exterminate the enitre country, because anything less and you will likely lose everything as well.

You can't really plan to survive a full counter value exchange. But that's not the only kind of exchange out there. If one or two bombs hit the only military facilities worth hitting in my state in a counterforce strike, my odds are pretty good, actually.

That Tarif rate will, by its very nature, lead to less us dollars leaving the country, making it inherently less valuable internationally as less and less people need to use it.

That affords the treasury the opportunity to take money out of circulation to preserve value and maybe get some back lost due to overprinting.
