The wife jumped in-front of him and managed to turn him away as he made comments about liberal bias…..

You're right, except it is not confined to Trump supporters. The majority of people are not willing to or capable of (I don't know which) actually debating an issue, they just know that their side supports it or opposes it, so that's their position. If asked to defend it, they can not.

Some of Trump's support over the last three elections has been based on the idea that he's an isolationist. But he's not. He's fully on-board with the US swinging the MIC around in other countries' faces, as long as there's something in it for him. Recall that he wanted to make military aid to Ukraine contingent on them making Biden look bad. Even before he was President, he supported US intervention in places like Libya and Syria, if doing so allowed the US take their oil. He wanted to take Iraq's oil too. Not to mention that he was always really into the idea of having a big military parade in DC. So there's no reason to believe that he would ever reallocate resources away from the military. He just wants to use it to pursue shorter-term gains than it's typically used for these days.

I'm sure, still there is reason to believe that he would ever reallocate resources away from the military he has a deportation plan and it could be one of the avenues it occurs or technology with Musk possibly streamlining the govt to make it more efficient.
