Amm no thats not funny at all, no matter what

It could be. People who can't laugh at life threatening diseases aren't going to be very much fun when they get one.

I mean I wouldn't laugh immediately after diagnosis, but jokes would be welcome like 2 hours later.

Cancer doesn't lend itself as well to jokes as do some diseases (like Alzheimer's, for instance), but there's no reason humour about it shouldn't be amusing. If you don't find the humour funny, either you don't have a very good sense of humour, or your friend isn't very funny. It's all too easy to mistake shock value for humour in jokes about death and disease (much like a good number of "dead baby" jokes), so I'd bank on the latter.

I'm considering instructing in my will that a comedian should deliver my eulogy, with the express instruction to joke about death and whatever caused mine until people start leaving the cemetery in disgust. <.<

Also, there's a quote referencing the title someplace.

One of many Czardas puppets. I regarded this as my main account upon creating it and for several years thereafter, but these days, that's no longer important.
Death is patient, death is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Death does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

That's just a tad different. It's you - the one living with/dying of the condition in question - initiating the joke.

depends on several factors.

1) the joke itself
2) the intent of saying the joke.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled out. so I was groggy, in pain and not feeling up to snuff.

I called my sister for a pickup... and she started joking about how I spoke...

let me tell you... giggling while shot up with painkillers, and a mouth full of gauze and blood and saliva...

well... now I laugh about it... but back then... I was too busy giggling.

The good thing about telling jokes to someone with Alzheimers is that you can repeat the same joke over and over again and will always laugh.
You know you've made it on NSG when you have a whole thread created around what you said.
