Anti-Migrant Sentiment Rises In Russia As 4 Tajiks Charged In Moscow Attack

Two interesting articles that put into perspective the conditions and discrimination that Tajik diaspora (ranging from the official 1.3 million to possibly 3 million) receive in Russia.

edit: Also a take on how this could further strain the relations between Russia and Tajikistan.

The Moscow terror attack could drive a wedge between Russia and one of its longtime allies

Tajikistan has already tried to distance itself from the attack.

Its foreign ministry said Saturday reports that its citizens were involved were "fake," The Moscow Times reported.

The country's interior ministry also said that two of the suspects initially named by Russian media were in Tajikistan at the time of the attack, per The Moscow Times.

Meanwhile, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon told Putin on Sunday that "terrorists have no nationality, no homeland and no religion," his office said.

This more or less confirms my suspicions that the FSB just snatched up four minority guys and tortured them into confessing. Not only are they most likely innocent victims of a monstrous injustice, the perpetrators are still at large. Expect more attacks in the coming weeks/months.

That’s my main worry as well. And then you have people cheering on the torture. I’m no fan of ISIS but rule of law should prevail. We’re not rabid animals, or at least shouldn’t be.

According to the following former high ranking US military officer, who was invited to this independent news program, its not what most have been saying here.

Fast forward to 9:15. Or 13:00 if you want to get to the explanation of the event.

Or, you know, you could just describe what your favorite youtuber is saying? A quick look-up of the channel turns up titles and thumbnails full of nonsensical tabloid drivel, so I can only assume the presentation will be just as obnoxious. The guy’s also a financial guru/alleged fraudster. I’ll pass on the watch.

Good thing this isn’t a conspiracy theory, they’re already fucking doing it and Russian propaganda is already describing Russian attacks against Ukraine as “revenge”.

I think it's just your understanding of the English language that's the problem. A "conspiracy" just defines a group of people secretly planning together (conspiring) in order to achieve a goal that isn't publicly shared that may be something nefarious or manipulative. And the definition of a "theory" is basically a system of ideas intended to explain something else, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.

So yes your comment "This is just gonna be used as justification to kill more Ukrainians." is a theory to explain how the Russian government may be conspiring to use these attacks in order to manipulate the perception of reality by their citizens (political and military propaganda).

There's no need to be so defensive - people are jailed for conspiring all the time and conspiring has been a regular occurrence throughout human history. In addition to that, most of the greatest minds of our time were famous theorizers - so you're in great company my friend!

As much as I take anything a former US Colonel says with a grain of salt, his opinions, the breakdown of his theories and his understanding the bigger picture make a lot more sense than most of the anti-islamic posts in here.

Although he comes with a lot of experience an intel from the top, he is of course not without biases, here's wikipedia's summary of his career so far:

"Douglas Abbott Macgregor (born January 4, 1947) is a retired U.S. Army colonel, government official, author, consultant, and political commentator. He was a leader in an early tank battle in the Gulf War and was a top planner in the 1999 NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. His 1997 book Breaking the Phalanx argued for radical reforms inside the Army. His thinking contributed to US strategy in the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

After leaving the military in 2004, he became more politically active. In 2020, then-president Donald Trump proposed Macgregor as ambassador to Germany, but the Senate blocked the nomination. On November 11, 2020, a Pentagon spokesperson announced that Macgregor had been hired to serve as Senior Advisor to the Acting Secretary of Defense, a post he held for less than three months. Trump also appointed him to the board of the United States Military Academy, but the appointment was terminated by the incumbent president Joe Biden. Macgregor regularly contributes to Fox News and has appeared on the Russian state-funded channel RT.[8] His commentary has been noted for disparaging Ukraine, immigrants and refugees."

Your source is trying to imply that the massive Russian attack on Ukrainian infrastructure was in revenge to the ISIS attack despite happening before the attack even happened.

And Macgregor hasn't said a single factoid of intelligent thought about this war since it's began.

Macgregor is a well known Putin Simp who has spent the entirety of the Ukraine war saying "UKRAINE IS FINISHED RUSSIA WILL CRUSH THEM SHORTLY" every 2 weeks since the war began. He's just mad that ever since he got passed up by the army for abandoning his ideas for reform he's become a professional contrarian who is willing to simp for anyone who humors his delusional ideas.

Macgregor's entire support for Russia is the belief that "Russia is just holding back soon we'll see the REAL RUSSIAN ARMY and then everyone will regret not adopting my reforms!!!!"

That and as a believer of the Great Replacement theory other assorted things he's a believer that Putin and Russia are the last "Great Hope" against the evil Globalists like some other Qanon Trump supporting types.

You're right and this is a great learning opportunity that nothing and no source are truly quality (purely objective) sources without bias. You should approach every article and piece of information with caution and always question it's authenticity, in order to discover how much bias your source has.

There are many ways to assess source bias, but I find that the ABC test is a simple way to ascertain source truthfulness:

Author
Who generated this information?
What qualifications, credentials, or experience makes them an expert on this topic?
Who or what organization is the publisher, sponsor, or source?
Who funded the author and what are their motives?
Where was the information published, with what kind of review or quality control?

Bias
Does the information presented cover all sides of the topic in a neutral, objective manner?
Or is it clearly pro or con a position? If so, does it seem fair to both perspectives?
Is there any emotional content?
What is the purpose of this information? Is it to inform, teach, persuade, or sell?

Content
What is the scope of the content? Is it short or long? Is it a summary overview or a detailed analysis?
Is the information relevant to your topic?
Is the information organized? Does it makes sense? Is it reasonable, logical?
Is the readership level simple or highly technical?
Read multiple and diverse sources. Does this information match up with what you’ve been finding from other sources?
Are claims supported with evidence? Is there a reference list of sources used?

I wasn't replying to you. You can see who the reply is aimed at as it's highlighted in the quote section: e.g. "Res Publica Solaris wrote..."

Or did you forget to log in to your alt account?

I also never suggested the source was bias-free, in fact I suggested the opposite - that no source is bias-free. I also provided a list of checking biases which supports most of what you said in your comment.

Of course I welcome discussion and critique from everyone, but your original comment that "I didn't answer the question" made no sense to me.

I was just trying to help us all with the list of biases to check for every source as I feel it's an extremely useful life tool. But I don't want to de-rail this thread any more.

I am shocked by what have happened. This was so tragic and sad. But there were reasons.

Anyway, I know that It is Ukraine and U.S involved in this operation. U.S Did warn Russia of an Attack, And I guess they actually did collaborate with Ukraine to do the attack. The Attackers were going back to Ukraine, and Putin is getting Vengeance for all the lost lives of the Russians.

Ukraine: They themself has denied their involvement.

U.S: They did try to warn russia, which gives a hint that U.S actually knew of the attack. And I know that ISIS and ISIL is actually funded by the U.S, just some different name, because U.S.A kinda hates muslims, even though I myself am a Muslim. I do know that ISIS and ISIL are operated by the us, because they want to cement their grip on power. >:(

Russia: Their attack left a devastating Mark, since this was their first major terror attack in History, after the 2000 Moscow Apartment Bombings.
Russia claims to get back Vengeance at whoever caused the attacks, and they did blame most of it on Ukraine. Putin did launch a severe Bombing attack on Ukraine, with the third attack in 5 days.

ISIS: They have claimed responsibility. Just days ago, Russia and China rejected the Proposal of a U.S Led Ceasefire.

NO OFFENSE!: I think ISIS and ISIL were ordered by the U.S to claim Responsibility. I did saw from the Pictures that They looked like Ukrainian or Arab.

Anyways, I myself did side up with the Russians, but I will not deny this: They are killing innocent children. :o
