Charles X was a reactionary and not bourgeois, but yes, the July monarchy was more Bourgeois.

That Charles X was so reactionary is pretty much why the bourbon regime fell and was replaced by Louis-Philippes bourgeois monarchy. Louis XVIII had a lot more sense, or at least found it after getting kicked out by Napoleon for being too much of a normal french monarch.
I mean hell that's a normal story, the only reason France didn't end up a monarchy after the franco-prussian war is because the presumptive monarch was too monarchist even for the monarchist parliament of Thiers. Mfer singlehandly sunk monarchy in france because he wanted the surrender flag as the national one.

To Portugal he was certainly bad. Yeah, I agree. I think he improved France's domestic governance, but in terms of foreign policy he seems like an irresponsible warmonger.
