The last mass shooting the UK had was 13 years ago. The US appears to have one every couple of months.

Clearly one of those countries is doing something right.

When was the last mass shooting?

Tight gun control might keep guns out of the hands of a few crazies. But even casual criminals will still easily get their hands on guns if they want to.

Besides, crazies don't need guns to go on mass killings. See China.

The one thing I've noticed about Americans, regardless of their political stripes... is they're really shit at insults. You sir are no exception. Your attempts are not even insulting, and would be hilarious for their badness if they were not... well, shite :\

Please try harder?

On a related subject, I fear that the shootings right at home are now causing copycats. If it gets out of control we'll never be able to go out again. :(

Riiight. Merry Old England has a gun problem. It's Subjects, and not Citizens, are not permitted to own firearms. How they are going to permit the Olympic Game shooters to bring in their rifles and pistols into Country is going to be interesting to say the least.

Just One American with a Carry Concealed License would have ended the rampage very quickly.

Both weapons used in this incident(a shotgun and a .22 rifle w/telescopic scope) were legally owned. Explain how the shooter could have two legally owned guns if British people aren't permitted to own firearms, please.

Just One American with a Carry Concealed License would have ended the rampage very quickly.

Alternatively, one American with a (probably illegal) concealed weapon would have been among the victims.

I believe there are suspicions of a family dispute of some kind, as the Bird's twin brother and the family lawyers are among the victims.

1. We're not subjects we're citizens. Source.
2. We are allowed to own fire arms. Source.
3. It wont be very interesting, as they have already sorted it out. Source.
4. I'm not sure how you can be 100% sure of an American with a gun could of stopped him. He may of been shot dead by the crazy loon.

Give me a source proving that more than one American has stopped a mass shooting in America. Give me a source that proves that relaxed gun control would mean that in most cases, a local hero would shoot the killer.

Imagine, there are reports of a spree shooting. Armed police rush to the scene, and find a man with a weapon drawn. Silly Yank bugger could get himself shot trying to play the hero.

I'd like to think the police would identify themselves and order him to drop the weapon before shooting him

Or Irish.

Or someone had told the police he was Irish and he was carrying a table-leg.

But you're more than welcome to search any news archive. It will back up my claims.

1 factor though was that was before SWAT was formed here, afterwards they are pretty quick on the scene along with other law enforcement officers.

A civilian PD shot him.
