The EU decision to halt aid to Palestine might not be implemented after all due to opposition from member states
Some good news in this mess for once.

This is nice to hear (if their word can be trusted), but the damage is done. And I doubt Bibi would want to negotiate: he seems hellbent on destroying them.

Forget a moral standpoint and consider just a practical one. Hamas has 130 hostages of varying nationalities. They could potentially gain some leverage by holding these people till their demands are met, and instead they literally beheaded a filipino and murdered and paraded a German woman through town. It's like hamas is trying to get the whole goddam planet on Israel's side. I don't wanna get to into the debate of "who is worse," but can you get much worse than brutally murdering random people who aren't your enemy and could just go home?

My guess is Bibi might do it.
Just because the death toll keeps climbing and a ground invasion is going to cause Israeli deaths to skyrocket.
Or he’s going to genocide Gazans

May do it in order to appease the people he actually wants to make peace with (like Saudi) but may also end up doing the other thing because there are some truly hardline nutjobs in his party. He has a very big decision to make.
Ifreann wrote:You ask this as if we should assume that this monstruous behaviour was specifically planned by Hamas. As if they sent people out with orders to find a Filipino woman to behead. Which doesn't seem likely.

I'm not sure if he will. After all, this attack from Hamas has killed many more than other conflicts they waged. My guess is he may commit geocide (no indication either way which way he will go). They're already targeting medical teams and hospitals too, apparently.Velstrania wrote:May do it in order to appease the people he actually wants to make peace with (like Saudi) but may also end up doing the other thing because there are some truly hardline nutjobs in his party. The Saudis have reportedly ended talks at this time so I doubt if Israel will just end everything in hopes to resume talks.

I live in false hope a lot of the time, so there's that.
