Consider how they were treated when they got home. All the problems they had and the fact they were a noticeable percentage in homelessness......

Following orders is a problem? And yes, they did belong there. They were soldiers who were ordered to go there and fight against the NVA and VC.

Blaming Vietnam Veterans not just for the Vietnam War, but also for being bitter is not quite like blaming victims for being raped--but it's in the same ballpark. I think that war was wrong, but do not dishonor (let alone villify) everyone who served in it. That is both offensive and stupid.
