Halloween is right around the corner (at least it's sooner than the 2024 election), so I assumed it was a good time to ask the age old question. Are ghosts real? Are there unknown spirits watching you at this very moment?

What are ghosts? Ghosts could be any form of phenomenon that takes the form or intelligence of a living creature that has lived once before. They could span anywhere from a full-body apparition, a shadow figure in the shape of a dog, or, if you're feeling like it, an orb. Or, they might not even present themselves at all and just interact, likely mischievous, with the environment.

What are my opinions on ghosts? I, as you'd probably expect, take a very religious stance on ghosts. I believe that there are helpful, angelic ghosts. These could be family members from your past coming down to tell you that everything is going to be alright. They could be a person in bright white, opening the passageway to a new stage of life. Overall, these are just ghosts that are there to comfort you and send you a message. Then, there are harmful spirits. These are spirits that are not angelic, but rather devilish. These are spirits that attempt to harm you or lead you astray. Overall, I take a more angels and devils stance, sent from heaven or hell stance, than a, "oh man, a tragic event happened here so lots of energy is left behind, a perfect environment for ghosts to be displayed!"

What about you? Do you believe in ghosts? Do you believe that there are angelic and devilish ghosts? Or do you believe that they are remnants of a tragic past. Or are they just trying to find their way to the afterlife, but can't?

to be completely honest, if i wasn’t alone right now, i’d be dead.

Ghosts are a nice thing to believe in. It makes me feel less crazy when I’m ranting to myself, because I must actually be ranting to somebody if there are ghosts. I like to believe ghosts are good. After all, why live a life and then get a semi-life sorta thing and just screw it up? It makes me a bit more comfortable when I’m alone, and also help me feel like, ‘hey, there’s a ghost with me. They must care about me!’

I feel like they’re things or people that wanted to keep helping; that they’re people who want to keep helping others. Even though I don’t believe in any gods or greater powers, ghosts are a relaxing thing to thing about. Although they’re commonly played up as mischievous, malevolent beings, I honestly believe that ghosts aren’t strictly anything; they’re remnants of things like pets and people that want to support everyone they can without direct contact.

It’s a nice thing to have as comfort when you’re alone, because now you have somebody to talk to, even if you can’t see anybody there…

I belive in the concept of ghosts, spirits, residual energy, etc. though don't really believe in God or the afterlife. It is a very intriguing subject in my opinion, since I watch a lot of ghost hunting shows all the time, the comedic ones to be exact (BuzzFeed Unsolved & Ghost Files). If such things exist, I could be convinced.

Nah bruh I don’t believe in ghosts. The problem with the supernatural and stuff related to god and spirits is that there is no way to prove or disprove their existence. If I told you there is an invisible dragon that you can’t touch, hear, smell, and it gives off no electrical/thermal/radiation signatures. You can neither prove the dragon exists nor prove it doesn’t exist. Science doesn’t necessarily disprove the existence of god or spirits/ghosts becuase there is nothing to test to prove or disprove their existence.

I tend to take the idea of that it’s possible for spirits to exist but I don’t think there is some otherworldly force trying to lead you astray nor is there a hell or team of demons or whatever. I also doubt most of Kabbalah is actually real.
