Well I can't cite everything that Trump and DeSantis have ever said and done. But basically that. It's marvelous that some people have deluded themselves into thinking that Biden (who is the political equivalent of white bread), is anything even approaching the dumpster fire that is Trump, or his Floridian frenemy.

Biden was elected to restore normalcy, and be uncontroversial, and he mostly has. It's just that Fox News is very good at inventing controversy.

Trump is a populist and will only do things to keep him relevant.
DeSantis willingly breaches the constitution in his own state for his socially conservative values.

Neither of those are true, DeSantis never breached the constitution.

That doesn't prove incompetence, also those books are only banned in schools, you can still get them elsewhere.

Banning those books in schools is denying the children the need and right to understand history of how fucked up the US was in its past. IT is pretty much willingly erase the pursuit of knowledge and critical understanding for children.
And then there is the LGBTQ+ issues of his, and is horrendous response to COVID.

So Trump did not hold political rallies all the time to make sure he keeps relevant for his supporters?

No, but DeSantis banning books in schools is close to breaching the 1st amendment.

How divorced from reality must one's outlook be to believe Trump is better than Biden?

I cannot stand Biden, but he is superb compared to Trump.

It also very likely doesn't break the first amendment but that's an argument for another day.

Banning critical race theory and banning books is a breach of the first amendment. It is willingly denying children the need to learn about serious topics. Not to mention his anti-LGBTQ+ approach is also despicable.

Banning books is not a breach of the first amendment, that's been upheld many times in the past. As far back as the 1820s (and very likely earlier) books were being banned by both state and federal governments for various reasons.

Trump is the one who signed a deal with the Taliban to turn tail and run. Biden just went through with it.

Which is not the same when learning these topics in an actual education setting. Home Schooling does not promote a structured debate on these serious topics American students need to learn.

The 1820s was a different time period.
But to ban books that teaches American history, especially the evils of the US is DeSantis attempting to control what children are taught because of his "anti-woke" agenda.

This does not dispute the fact Trump will only put policies in place while ever he has a fan base supporting them. HE doesn't care about the actual job, he is a TV personality - ratings are all he cares about.

So you're upset with Biden for doing what Trump said he'd do. That's what you consider "controversial."

I actually sort of agree, doing what Trump says is usually controversial. But it's never MORE controversial than Trump. Since it's doing what he said.

Oh FFS, anything can be classed as "woke" then. IT is a buzzword with no definition.
Basically it means "anything I do not like and isn't socially conservative".

Banning LGBTQ+ books is denying children who are part of that community the right to understand themselves. Banning books that discuss race issues and slavery is denying children the right to learn about their country's history. Those are not work, that's called fucking learning.

EDIT

And, DeSantis signed into law the school version of the Don't Ask Don't Tell, basically denying children the right to be themselves in a safe environment.
MEn like DeSantis are the villains in dystopian fiction.

The books aren't banned, only, rightfully may I add, removed from schools.
