Based on what I have read, Russia is still in panic mode. They're evacuating civilians from the region, which suggests the war party that attacked them is massive.

I'm seeing video of the militia members slapping pro ukraine stickers on a line of Russian vehicles left abandoned with basically the keys still in them.

The base has fallen and they have full reign of it currently to do as they please. Considering the locals dropped everything apparently and fled, I'm seriously doubting they actually evacuated anything from that base before fleeing considering what was left behind.

But Ukrainian military action on internationally-recognised Russian soil would've been unthinkable in say 2021, much less 2012, even to the most genuinely ultra-nationalist elements in Ukraine.

Your position advocates for indefinite, endless war. Ill-gotten or not, the notion that Russia must give up everything(which they won’t) means this conflict will go on for years. I think with how quickly things are escalating, it's time for a peace deal. Russia gives Ukraine all of its land back, and in return the moscow metro doesn't wind up being dirty bombed. I fully support a peace deal in which Russia keeps 100% Russian clay...0% of which is found within the pre-2014 borders of Ukraine.
