They didn't. Russia sent a missile against Ukraine irrespossibly close to the Polish border. Either a misfire from the defensive systems or debris from the interception fell in Poland. At least, iirc, that was what the latest analysis from Poland said. Still, it should be noted that this wouldn't have happened if Russia were not aiming at targets close to Poland. This latest irrespossible behavior where a Russian missile actually crossed Polish airspace (or an older case where one crossed Moldova airspace)follows the same pattern. Russia is endangering the safety of people in Poland and that is a very severe violation.

I don't think Islam is incompatible with western values completely. Although being one of the countries of Europe of all time, it's mostly populated by Muslims and does rather well despite certain shortcomings. After all, Islam is an abrahamic religion and the catholic church was strongly opposed to democracy at first, but then Christian democracy was invented and made a compromise acceptable to both sides.
