I have no idea. Ukraine has surprised us before, but I doubt this "Free Russian Legion" is much of anything bound to do much of anything. The offensive has been delayed and delayed again so I dont know what the idea is.

Also you would know better but how reliable is the source? Ive come not to trust any Ukrainian figures as well as Russian ones, and I dont blame them. War can be messy.

How useful would invading Russia be, however? Are they trying to distract forces from the frontlines, so they can strike? Is this not part of the counteroffensive? What is the chief goal?

Considering that Belgorod cancelled its May 9th wankfest due to fear, every move that causes more fear in the Russian aggressors is good news.

Oh, without a doubt there is plenty of propaganda. You don't want to reveal the true nature of bad things, else morale goes down. Every country does it in war. After all, the first casualty before war is truth, and it often is taken out prior to the conflict beginning.

I'm not entirely sure the scale of the attack, (and I'm in school right now), but as soon as I have the opportunity, I'll look more into it.

Not much, a lone unsupported border raid with a couple of tanks. But they did successfully capture small border villages like Kozinka and are marching to Grayvoron. Russian aviation is reported to be active in the area.

Probably to force Russia to withdraw some of their troops in Ukraine so they can guard their actual borders.

Exactly. Russia is running out of the equipment needed to wage this war and the troops (they still have plenty but 200,000 troops is still a huge loss.)

Not really? The Legion fights under Ukraine's banner and with Ukraine's support, so they are, in effect, invaders on Russian soil.
