Going back to the topic: it was clear that proponents of porn bans in the US do it out of wanting to put Christian morality in criminal law.

Bad idea. The enforcement of these could lead to immoral acts more depraved than porn addiction imo.

People never seem to learn from the lessons that came from the Prohibition.

At worst, it's putting a societal veneer to show to others (and God), "Hey! We're banning porn and sexual immorality! Look how conforming we are to your edicts, God!"
