Yesterday Today (my bad) Ron DeSantis had passed a law that states that schools don't need to refer to students by their preferred pronouns, but instead by their assigned sex at birth.

This law means that if a college student is born male, and reassigns to female, their college can still refer to them as a male without punishment.

A protest was started in offense to the bill, leading to ALL the protesters being arrested.

This comes as rumors about Ron DeSantis possible presidential run are flaming up, with Ronnie boy as president, the Transgender fight (a fight that has been happening since the 1920s) is all but dead in the United States. Land of the free, eh?

I think you managed to highlight the least serious thing happening. Sure, it's rude and crude, but the denial of proper healthcare is dangerous, as is the criminalization of LGBTQ existence.

If DeSantis signs the bill into law, it will go into effect immediately, a little more than a month before Pride Month begins in June. Festivals such as St. Pete Pride in St. Petersburg, the state’s largest Pride celebration, could lose their permits.

The measure is so vaguely worded that Pride organizers in the state have already expressed concern. “We do believe that this might be the last Pride as you know it,” Patrick Gevas, one of the organizers of Miami Beach Pride, told NBC 6.

Critics have slammed the bill as being overly broad, which could have unintended consequences. Republicans backing it have admitted that the measure would prevent performances of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and the musical Hair.

But the measure will also have an intended consequence: “erasing” LGBTQ people from existence. Florida Republican Representative Randy Fine said last week that if passing the bill “means erasing a community because you have to target children, then, damn right, we ought to do it!”

It's hard for me to understand the OSRS policy on transgenderism, but I think I'm allowed to say, "Why is the original post making it sound like it's the end of the world? Is there any damage done to person who is called by the pronoun which they don't refer?"

Also, the original post makes it sound like the protesters were just protesting on the sidewalk, not doing anything wrong. They were in the capitol building.

it’s psychologically harmful. people transition because they really don’t feel right as their birth sex, and people who know that intentionally calling them by the wrong name to remind them of it is deeply hurtful.

Read the article? It’s foreign nationals (for the most part, ultra-wealthy investors) from several rabidly anti-US countries who don’t live in or have citizenship in the US. The rich (especially those from repressive states that wish to harm us) don’t have some kind of right to buy out property and push up prices for people who actually need housing to live here, nor should they have free reign to interfere with US strategic interests because muh laissez-faire capitalism. The inclusion of North Koreans is admittedly ridiculous considering current embargoes and the state of their economy, but the move as a whole is largely a step forward for progress. Regulations are needed to stop oligarchs, foreign or domestic, from treading all over ordinary folk and becoming more powerful than the government itself. This isn’t an exception.

I approve of most of what Ron DeSantis has done so far if not all of it. Am a resident that isn't complaining. Florida can be a decent place to live, provided you're not where cost of living is expensive. But if your job is good that doesn't matter as much.

If you are an employee doing customer-facing work (cashier, a professor, an ambassador, etc.), your behavior reflects on your employer. Employers have an interest in not being labeled "rude", "bigoted", or "annoying to deal with", so they often require their customer-facing employess to behave themselves.
