also you can't ever truly have safety. because when their is no freedom and you live in a padded room under a police/nanny state you are at risk form the state deciding it doesn't like you.

I used to live in Belarus I did not have almost no freedom but I felt really safe sleeping at night knowing that government agents totally wont arrest me for saying something bad about our country or leader.

You might want the government to watch your every movement. The issue is, many, many, many, many people do not want that. You do not know what is best for them. What right do you have to take away millions of people's freedom?

That's why we need a stronger government. So we can crack down on people who try to break into the system and deal with them accordingly.

Because the Government works hand-in-hand with corperations which will almost definitely use your information to squeeze you dry of any and all income, and because they can very easily kill you if they decide they don't like what you say, and because the government has already used innocent americans who did not consent in illegal, incredibly dangerous experiments, showing they have no fear of breaking their own laws to do what they want and get what they want from you, etc.

It's like seeing someone shoot an innocent guy to death for no reason, and then instead of thinking "they could shoot me too, i should leave", you think "they could shoot the people who try to hurt me, as they definitely seem very sane and reasonable, so I should run up to them and give them more guns"

Why would a stronger government crack down on rulebreakers if those rulebreakers are diectly helping them? They have no reason to. It's not like the public could rise up against them if they didn't. and besides, the system is already infested with corruption at every level. If you give it more power, it will continue being corrupt. For this to make any sense whatsoever, you need a system not already so corrupt, which is pretty much impossible.

And yet the country is as screwed as ever with thefts, shootings, burglaries etc, and as ever is sooooo slow even when it comes to REACTing than PREVENTing.

What FREEdom this nation to live in to be able to take things for FREE as and when thieves like!
