What is better: Pancakes or Waffles?

This is a close one, but I have to say pancakes. They're just easier to eat, and I generally prefer the texture. I would never turn down a good waffle, though.

What do waffle lovers have to say about this?

the strength of the waffle is that you are always guaranteed a waffle the same size. you know what you're getting. pancakes? sometimes they're too small and won't stack well, sometimes they're too big and won't cook well in the middle. i prefer knowing i will have a good waffle in my waffle maker over dealing with the risk of sizing the pancakes wrong.

Actually, no. Pancakes are almost always easier to stack. You can stack like 10 pancakes but barely more than two waffles. Plus, if you stack pancakes to the height of a waffle, the pancake has more volume, meaning you get more flavour and more bang for your buck. You can also cook more pancakes at once, it's much easier to put fillings in pancakes. Pancakes are also more filling so you don't need to waste as much time and money. Finally, the syrup pocket argument is a foul argument for all waffle lovers. Pancakes actually hold syrup easier. They are spongier so they will soak up the syrup and EVERY bite will taste like syrup

Both are insanely good, I love both of them. I usually eat pancakes more often, so I think I appreciate waffles more just because of their rarity (for me)? But still, I really, really love both

I can't say one is better than the other in terms of appearance and taste.

What I can say is that I prefer pancakes more, largely because I don't have a waffle iron at home.

I used to have a waffle iron, but its nonstick coating got scratched and peeled over time.
I hesitate to get another waffle maker because the standard make seems to be a pain in the groove to clean.

Any toppings that I like on my pancakes are also any toppings that I like on my waffles.
