"The 16 records": the National Archives has informed Trump that they have given the Special Counsel 16 presidential records that show Trump and his top advisers had knowledge of the correct declassification process while he was president.

It's no surprise since well, every President and their advisors goes through this process. Hell, Biden had to. But it does deeply undercut Trump's argument that he declassified everything. Not that we believed him anyway.

It will be interesting to see how that works out for them, countries have been saying they will move away from the dollar for decades but the change hasn't been that dramatic. The US dollar is still overwhelmingly used to settle international trade with the three biggest following currencies being the Euro, Yen, and Sterling.

They're not dropping the US dollar, they're promoting trade in local currencies. How well that will work really depends on the contractual status of those trading. Frankly, people will still want to settle in dollars because it's simply more stable.

Even walking around Istanbul the other week, I could choose to pay in Dollars, Euros or local currency, no one asked me for Yuan or Roubles.

Demand will remain with the dollar for some time.

I think it'll take a few more years before more countries decide to get off the dollar. US may be always going through it economically but its way too viable in international trade to just go off the dollar YET.

Most ASEAN countries are export economies, typically if I'm importing a bunch of stuff from any of those countries, I'll ensure the contract is signed in HK or, increasingly, Singapore. I want the contract under the jurisdiction of a court system I can depend upon not to be corrupt or bribable.

It would also be in dollars.

Both as importer, and exporter, this benefits both sides, as exporter I get to keep money in a globally tradable currency in a stable environment.

Simply, the incentives where the demand is will remain with the dollar for some time.
