They're right-wing populists, not national socialists.

Some of them are very much acting like it.

Nods to MTG, birther conspiracy, Mark Robinson, Abott's comments on the shooting victims, etc.

I've heard it said--and hold it to be true--that if you're at a rally, and there's a Nazi flag, and the person with the Nazi flag isn't getting thrown out, then you're at a Nazi rally.

And I only remember one of the Big Two US parties not throwing out people with Nazi flags.

There are three things vital to know about any powerful institution: in whose interests it exercises its power, to whom it is accountable, and how to be rid of it.

They aren't nazis because this or that but rather because ideologically the Republicans are just right-wing populists and not fascists.

That being the GOP. Do we need to collect more proof to show how Nazis are Nazis to some people?

CNN should be ashamed of themselves.

They have lost total control of this “town hall” to again be manipulated into platforming election disinformation, defenses of Jan 6th, and a public attack on a sexual abuse victim.

The audience is cheering him on and laughing at the host.

Good job CNN, fill a town hall with Trump supporters and let him rip..

Already too late from the get-go.

If we got Nazis and people are denying their Nazism, we got a problem.

Most Republicans aren’t Nazis, but many of them support an American form of fascism. This makes them worse than neo-Nazis because neo-Nazis don’t hide the fact that they’re fascists and could never succeed in US politics. Meloni and Le Pen are literally the leaders of self-described neofascist parties which have recently gone on PR campaigns to hide that fact as well.

None of them support an American version of fascism.

And those two parties are more national conservative than anything else at this point.

They have barely changed any of their views. They’re just expressing neofascism in a more palatable way so they can win elections.

I don’t know about Bolsonaro. They are defiantly not Hitler. I had a great-Aunt who was attached to the American Embassy back then. She was hot. She told a story of meeting him at a party. She said he had presence. He spoke and was interesting. Back then she would not have guessed he was capable of doing what he did. She did not admit to him flirting. :D

Republicans these days? Can’t give speeches like he could.

No. I was saying the the National Rally and whatever Meloni's party is called is less right-wing than fascism.

Nobody but the most gullible and naive of voters in their countries actually believe they’ve moderated. It’s just easier to justify voting for fascists to yourself if the fascists are coaxing you into it by pretending they’re any better than before.
