Hopefully Gaetz, Bishop, Budd, Pence (this isn't "Orange Man Bad" as I've been from 'critics', he legit did bad stuff), Trump (ain't we already on track towards that?), and - last but not least - every single other Republican in Congress.

The GOP is like a cartoon villain thing; they always are behind the scandals and suchlike, and they always try to pull off crap again.

I can understand Trump and Gaetz. But every single GOP congressmen? Do you just want a dictatorship of liberals or something?

Missouri has joined 16 other States that have now enacted laws restricting or banning gender-affirming care for minors, banning gender-affirming care for minors and preventing transgender girls and women from competing in female sports. In addition, schools that allow trans athletes will lose State funding:

Transgender minors in Missouri no longer would have access to puberty blockers, hormones or gender-affirming surgery under one bill passed by the GOP-led House Wednesday. The ban also affects some adults — Medicaid health care won’t cover any gender-affirming care in the state, and surgery will no longer be available to prisoners and inmates.

Another bill, to ban transgender girls and women from participating in female sports teams, would apply from kindergarten through college, both at public and private schools. Schools that allow transgender girls and women to play on such teams would lose state funding.

Kansas City plans on defying the State by passing a sanctuary law to protect those seeking gender-affirming care.

I am in no way anti-trans, but in almost every state of the Union, a minor cannot get a simple tattoo or piercing on their own. Major surgeries should be at least as challenging to obtain, in my opinion. Treatments that can be stopped, like blockers, are a totally different thing.

Correct, but if they get their parents consent, then they can get a tattoo or piercing - at least, I believe that's what it is in most States; it is in NJ.

In this case, I'm pretty certain the parents consent was needed for a minor to have surgery anyway - what the GOP is doing is banning that entirely for those for minors, regardless of whether their parents consented or not.

House GOP leadership says to wait on Santos as he defies calls to resign

Not surprising considering Beechhurst-Levittown is an incredibly swingy district that the Republicans simply can't afford to lose.

And they say, "small government".

The only government we need is a civil libertarian, big service-providing government that serves all people equitably! Plus enforces equity because we can't trust the conservatives with not encroaching on nonwhite, non-Christian nonmale queer people.

Man, progressivism is the future after all!

Conservatism has become a cultish ideology that opposes liberty for what it designates as "non-Aryan", "woke (which they use contemptuously, not the actual definition of being alert to discrimination and injustice)", or "leftist". Total BS.

Like, at this point their "transgender ideology" will fall in history next to the Jewish Question.

And now, they have a literal charlatan on their leagues. McCarthy is a Trump-puppet.

It's not conservatism that has changed, that is still defended by people like Romney and Haley. It's that Nationalists like Trump and DeSantis have taken over.

Trump and DeSantis just say the quiet parts out loud, unlike how things were in the past. Because lets be honest here, things like the immigration debate were always tainted by racism going back to basically the 1840s and the Irish diaspora. Alot of people who say they are against further immigration are really saying that they don't want certain ethnic groups or religions immigrating to America, like the "immigration restrictionists" who looked at people like my own ancestors and said "no way." It's the same with stuff like being tough on crime. The angry undercurrent was always there deep within the GOP and even within society in general, crossing party lines. But Trump tore the mask off.

Nationalists, whether they are nativity in the 19th century or 20th century paleoconservatives, always were in favor of restricting immigration. There was no mask.

Also Reagan gave amnesty to illegal immigrants. Anti-immigration rhetoric is not conservative, it is nationalist.

Reagan giving amnesty doesn't change the fact that the nativists have always had a place within the GOP and conservatism at large.

Also there was a mask with immigration restriction, which is the term itself. They weren't against all immigration, they were and today still are against certain immigrants for their so-called race.

That's because the GOP is a big tent party. Ever heard of the three legged stool?

Also the GOP was more pro-immigrant after the new deal since labor unions didn't want to compete against immigrants that were willing to take cheaper wages.

Plus like I said before Reaganites are very much in favor of immigration, so it's not a conservative thing, it's a nationalist thing.

And once again, people like paleoconservatives have always been very open about wanting stricter immigration measures.

On my father's side, Eastern Band Cherokee, my Grandfather couldn't carry a firearm even though he was a police chief in the 1950s, and my uncle was a tribal judge on the Omaha Reservation. I'm supposed to have ancestry on the Baker Rolls of the Eastern Band, but I've yet to find it, and some of my other relatives of that generation did a lot to hide our ancestry. On my mother's side, I have ancestry on the Choctaw Rolls and Seminole heritage as well.

Im curious what peoples thoughts are on unopposed candidates in general elections. I always leave it blank and personally I wish no one not even the candidate would vote so they lose and special election is called.

In Mississippi this year several statewide offices will be unopposed and many state legislative districts will be which is honestly pathetic. Get a high school senior to run for all I care.
