Pretty much. People keep asking why gun owners don't rally to the side of the Dems or leftists whenever something bad happens to them but no shit they're not gonna risk life and limb for you when you'll turn around and try to restrict their rights lol. Dems made enemies of gun owners, you can't expect them to come rushing to your aid after spending decades trying to roll back every single compromise ever made and constantly find new things to ban.

This is an absolutely insane response to a 13 year old being arrested for sharing a meme because his mother is a political opponent of a state governor. “Blame the Dems for hating gun, no reason to rally to their side since they’re trying to restrict my rights”? Are you fucking serious? No, I don’t blame the Dems for this kid getting arrested; I blame DeSantis and the fact that he and the GOP are turning Florida into one of the tinpot Latin American dictatorships that Miami is supposed to be franchising for us. Claiming this is worth tolerating because elements of the Democratic Party favor restrictions on certain weapons is just embarrassing— you’re worried about your rights being restricted, how about the right not to have your children kidnapped because of your political views? Florida’s a one-party GOP state, but what happens if a Democratic-controlled state gets a governor willing to do sick shit like this— and, for example, targets some 2A activist? And don’t give me some bullshit about that being impossible because there’d be a shootout, it’s a trifle to just grab the kid from school or whatever when their parents aren’t around. Why don’t you just admit your motives here are purely mercenary, and it doesn’t matter to you how many kids get kidnapped as long as the party remains amenable to your arms business?

Shit I can't believe I forgot that one, it's probably the biggest example of the trend. We're over 20 states now that have it legalized for recreational usage, yet it's still a pretty serious offense federally.

37 states have legalized it to some degree, NC poised to be 38. At this point its absolutely ridiculous Congress has hasn't legalized it.

If gun owners don't want to go to bat for a party that wants to take away their rights, that's perfectly understandable. But if their state government is hiring genital inspectors for the high school sports teams or drumming up bullshit terrorism charges against the child of a whistleblower, and they aren't doing anything about it, then I would suggest that they should shut the fuck up about owning guns so they can resist tyranny.

I doubt they will any time soon. The looming threat of enforcement is too valuable to them. They can just ignore 99% of violations, but still keep the law around so they can throw the book at the ones they want to.

If the 2A advocates were serious about resisting tyranny and defending democracy like they insist they are they would've taken action against the Capitol Coup, rather than siding with it to overthrow democracy and install tyranny.

This is the GOP's best alternative to Trump. The Child Catcher.

As someone who is in Florida at the moment, I am scared for my life about DeSantis reaching his greasy arm and snatching my ass up for posting stuff like this.

Also, fuck the person in the NC legislature for giving the GOP supermajority; congrats, woman, you gave the Fascist Party of the Fourth Reich the ability to completely fuck over our state. I watch in horror of the Nazification of our people. I demand a recall of the state legislature.

Yes, 2 fucks. Deal with it.

Yes, try actually reading all of that now. It's a response and expansion to what Port Caverton said to ABH asking about the 2A, which should have been very plainly obvious. I think a kid being arrested for memes is dumb even if they vaguely can be considered "terroristic threats" if you squint hard enough, but ABH brought up a point that several people have over the past few years and it's still very silly. No shit gun owners aren't going to rush to defend the Dems, it's like asking why the ACLU no longer supports far right groups in free speech cases. At a certain point you realize that supporting your enemies is really dumb, even if it makes you inconsistent in your beliefs.

And children will continue to be shredded in school by weapons of war probably even more so therefore you are fine with mass shootings occurring on a regular basis and children being shredded in schools. It is attitudes like yours that this happens because your completely unwilling to compromise whatsoever on this.

It is truly utterly pathetic all your care about is your stupid pieces of metal. I wish we would just ban assault weapons again and take them all away and melt them to down to use the metal for something useful.

Yeah, tried to invest in it, but the lack of federal legislation makes the market unpredictable, so the stocks aren't a great investment unless youre looking very long term.

And my point is that this doesn’t “make you inconsistent in your beliefs,” it just highlights your actual beliefs. The reality is that this self-aggrandizing rhetoric about needing an armed populace to resist potential state tyranny has always been bullshit, and it’s simply a bunch of amoral arms dealers inventing justifications for their trade that will play on TV with the dumbest 40% of Americans, without a care in the world for actual tyranny. The Dems are, as you say, your enemies, because they’re a clear economic threat to you, whereas DeSantis’s child kidnapping is tolerable, because it isn’t.

Tbh I really wish Biden would get it over with and just remove marijuana from the DEA lists. It's a big potential tax source for the fed but they still cling to some goofy 1960s morality about it.
