You know we should let Trump and DeSantis fight. Then there might be a split and maybe just maybe it could result in a Blue Tsunami.

Too much copium I know. I’ll stop.

There’s also a new DeSantis name: DiSaster. Apparently.

Helluva launch from DeSantis. Definitely wasn't strange, underwhelming, or otherwise filled with avoidable errors...

I don't understand Ron, he's clearly smart enough to know that he has an image problem, but takes the worst possible steps to rectify it. He seems to have no iota of good political intuition.

Is he smart? Going to Harvard suggests it and yet I remember a high school/college GF. She was a genius. I mean to the point of where she didn’t have to pay for school. They just pleaded for her to join. She did a short stint at Stanford. I ran into her later and she told me she left. I was shocked and asked why?

You would be amazed by how many stupid people with very large bank accounts go there.

Well, that's true. A lot of the most brilliantly "book-smart" people I know paradoxically have zero intuition or instinctive understanding of things outside of their narrow focuses. Maybe that applies to Ron, or maybe he's just another Ivy League moron.

Who knows, either way, he's gonna get thrashed in the primary. And he deserves it too.

The primaries are going to be a shitshow of candidates wavering between appealing to the base or trying to be normal, you can't be both.

As Trump likes to say: he made Ron DeSantis. DeSantis would be nowhere without Trump. And while the off-ramp is always something the student takes eventually, DeSantis really only survives if the base complains to him. He kind of needs to be told what's going on, not Trump who just says it and starts the conversation. Essentially, Trump is a man that will take the initiative; DeSantis needs to be given it.

DeSantis will try to out trump Trump, but that never works.

They're going to find it very hard to appeal to voters outside of the GOP while trying to retain the GOP. You can't do both as you said though with only 16% of Americans saying the country is going in the right direction, there's definitely an opening for the GOP, even if their candidates are bat-shit crazy.

If things keep going like this, Trump is going to decapitate him and gift Bob Iger his gilded skull as a ceremonial goblet.

There was an NYT story that promptly got totally overshadowed by the Spaces failure about how his wife is actually pretty active in his political maneuvers and is much more personable and able to give him some social/emotional depth or cover— imagine if he’d just been normal and done a big speech with her and their kids by his side, in some stadium or at Cape Canaveral or some new road or something, with a crowd of adoring supporters and a shitload of news cameras! But no, better do an audio-only event on a glitchy website with an autistic billionaire who also uses it to drone on about his own pet issues— and the audience didn’t even end up being that big. This is pretty bad for Twitter, too; I expect all those takes about how amazing it is that it’s still running despite losing the vast majority of its engineers are going to dry up pretty quickly. RIP also to Tucker Carlson, who I’m guessing is wondering whether bringing his show to Twitter will even be technically feasible atp.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — A poem written for President Joe Biden’s inauguration has been placed on a restricted list at a South Florida elementary school after one parent’s complaint.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, poet Amanda Gorman vowed to fight back. Her poem, “The Hill We Climb” was challenged by the parent of two students at Bob Graham Education Center in Miami Lakes, along with several books.

I suspect that if it comes to that, we will discover that whatever little personality he does have will be too much.

Minnesota Dems, even centrist ones, have come together to do some of the biggest economic reforms since the NEW DEAL by FDR. It's amazing frankly. From fixing public transport, free lunch for children, protection for LGBTQ Americans, legalized marijuana, etc. It's amazing and I might actually move here, especially cause public housing is being fixed too.

Prestigious schools are really more about having access to connections then being smart. Thousands of genius get rejected from the Ivy League, but every senators son gets in. It's just a blanket for the rank nepotism that is our employment practices.
