Quick question (please don’t hurt me), why are people so anti right-to-work law? I admit I don’t know much about unions or the law, but to me it seems more totalitarian not to have it because it is forcing someone to support an organization, even if they don’t want to? 'QAnon Shaman' freed early from federal prison

The US Capitol rioter known as the QAnon Shaman has been released early from prison to a halfway house.

Jacob Chansley, 35, was sentenced to 41 months in prison in November 2021. He was originally projected to be released this July.

He has been moved to a "residential re-entry management" facility in Phoenix, Arizona, and is expected be released on 25 May, according to prison records.

He received one of the longest terms handed down to any of the rioters.

Chansley - convicted of a felony count of obstruction - was one of nearly 1,000 criminal defendants charged in the 6 January 2021 riot, when Trump supporters stormed the Capitol as lawmakers certified President Joe Biden's election victory.

His lawyer, Albert Watkins, said in a statement that the early release of his client was "appropriate" and he should be "permitted to move forward with the next stage of what undoubtedly will be a law-abiding and enriching life".

With his face paint, horns and bearskin headdress, Chansley - an aspiring actor - became the notorious face of the raid on the seat of American democracy as his picture was beamed around the world.

He recently re-emerged in the national spotlight after Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued the riot was mostly peaceful, airing footage of the self-styled QAnon Shaman wandering the halls of Congress with police officers either escorting him, or making no attempt to bar his way.

Federal prosecutors said Mr Carlson had omitted key parts of Chansley's actions.

Chansley left a note on the dias of the Senate chamber that said: "It's only a matter of time. Justice is coming!"

9 service members dead after Army Black Hawk helicopters crash in Kentucky

Officials confirmed Thursday morning that nine U.S. Army service members were killed when two Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Kentucky on Wednesday night.

The helicopters were from Fort Campbell, an army installation on the Kentucky-Tennessee border, and they crashed in Trigg County, Kentucky.

Fort Campbell said the crash, at about 10 p.m., involved two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) helicopters on a routine training mission. They were HH60 Black Hawks, the fort said.

Brigadier general John Lubas, Deputy Commander of the 101st Airborne Division, said Thursday morning that there were five people in one helicopter and four in the other, a "fairly typical" arrangement, and said that the aircraft were practicing a "multi-ship formation" using night vision goggles. Lubas said the helicopters were practicing medical evacuation drills, but the crash appears to have occurred while they were flying, not while doing those exercises.

Lubas said that identities of the service members would not be shared until next of kin were notified. He said that the U.S. Army has deployed an aircraft safety team to investigate the crash.

"The command is currently focused on caring for the servicemembers and their families," the fort said, adding that the incident is under investigation. Lubas said that the Army is doing "everything we can" to notify families as quickly as possible. Some are outside the United States, he said, and he was not able to say when families would be notified.

Kentucky governor Andy Beshear said Thursday morning that he and Tennessee governor Bill Lee were "committed" to supporting the families who lost loved ones.

"There are no state lines when it comes to taking care of these families and helping them with their grief," he said.

Beshear tweeted Thursday morning that he was traveling to Fort Campbell "to support our troops and their families after last night's tragic incident."

Kentucky State Police, the state Division of Emergency Management and local officials all responded to the scene on Wednesday night. Lubas said that other Army aircraft had been in the air, and that the fort was notified "through multiple means" to the incident.

The helicopters crashed in an open field across from a residential area, Lubas said, so there were no casualties or injuries on the ground. Fort Campbell is about 60 miles northwest of Nashville.

Last month, two Tennessee National Guard pilots were killed when their Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Alabama during a routine training mission.

What the feds can do to the Jan 6 crowd, they can do to anybody who illegally occupies or damages federal buildings. Well, first of all, I don't date. Dating is basically paying for someone's dinner while they sit there and lie to your face. I was referring to workplace meetings, to be frank.
