Taking some of those examples into account... no, D.C. is fine.

1. Homelessness.

Denver has a huge homeless and housing problem, health and safety issues are just too great for the seat of power of our nation.

2. Crime

We have a crime issue here, citywide. It's indisputable, the people of our capital would be in constant risk.

3. Room

Where would we even put it? We have no room for a new capital building, let alone a new place for Congress, the Supreme Court, and a new White House.

Also, where would the Colorado state government go? Colorado Springs? I think they'll pass.

Unlike other capitals like Jakarta, there’s really nothing wrong with Washington. It would be too costly to move the capital and for no real reason. It’s fine as is.

no. as much as I hate D.C
abandoning it to move all of the federal government to some where else would be to expensive. And would take to much time and resources,
the only reason I could possibly conceive of for relocating the Capital would be if D.C was completly destroyed in a nuclear war and renderd uninhabitable.

To solve the problem with the city of D.C I'd cede the governing authority of non federally owned civilian residential and commercial areas to the State of Maryland.

That way the balance of power is maintained
(that and the flag doesn't get a uneven number of stars)

Actually, what I was thinking was building a whole new city, like in the middle of Kansas or something, but on the nuclear wipeout thing, what if we built it under a mountain like Cheyenne? (Mountain Complex, not Wyoming)
