Geographic location is irrelevant in an era where a message can very literally circumnavigate the globe in the course of one second and why dear God why are we still fetishizing the center between fascism and neoliberalism? Yes, move the capital to a purple state to prove that the federal government cares that the police don't murder so many people that there aren't enough left to die of not being able to afford health insurance.

While the Democrats keep falsely thinking "soft on crime" is a totally brilliant and sound idea. The Capital is fine where it is, and if you were going to argue we should revive the monuments that were never built to truly express the "American Way." Then I would have agreed with you. Otherwise, it's fine as is.

While the Federal Government can and has always been a pain. I don't think it's wise to have multiple capitals. It's best to have every major organization of the Government close to each other in order to communicate quickly in case of an emergency.

I personally think we should move it to NYC, the only reason we don’t have it there in the first place is because we built Washington in between the north and south during the beginnings of our nation so I wouldn’t look like the government liked one side more, nowadays, we don’t really have that problem, so I think we should move it to NYC and turn Washington into one giant museum.
