Let us look at the facts before us: there is a heat wave. The OP's flatmate has raised the temperature indoors so that it is even hotter. When the OP inquires why, he receives a patently nonsensical response. His flatmate grows angry, but eventually turns the heat down. Now, "for some reason" (unknown to the OP), his flatmate has given him a delicious treat which he expects the OP to consume.
Sorry, MHIJ, I think it's pretty clear your flatmate is trying to knock you off. He was going to make it look like heat stroke, but then you not only caught on but told thousands of people about it through this forum. The poison may be detectable, he reasons, but as long as he makes it appear like the cream went bad, no one will check. It may be too late.
