Personally I don't get why buildings should look scary and imposing but power to you if you like it.

Government buildings should be welcoming like this

Both are examples of Renaissance Revival

for cities, I love the architectual design of centeral bucharest.
For the country, I love the design or Norwegian houses. I love the bright colors.

International style: sparkling skyscrapers made of glass and metal.
But for ornamental gardens and country houses, the Chinese style is more suitable.

I wouldn't call it too much. I think Renaissance Revival is gorgeous to look at.

Baroque, by a long shot.

Renaissance Revival definitely would be second though.

I agree Baroque is absolutely gorgeous, colorful and wonderfully ornate.

There is something awe inspiring about too such as with this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsky_Palace_(Prague) or this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Andrew ... urch,_Kyiv

I like the bleak look it gives off, the simplicity and lack of any real color are something I really like, I get if that aesthetic doesn't appeal to you but it does to me

Yeah I like a lot how Kinsky Palace stands out against all the other buildings there. Looks different in context but I like it.

I was looking moreso on the Palace of Versailles and the Smolny Cathedral in Russia

It can work for some things but not government buildings. Boston City hall is one of ugliest buildings i've ever seen.

Both are absolutely stunning. That cathedral is beautiful with all the curves and cupolas.
