Thoughts on the Toothbrush Moustache?

In my opinion the toothbrush moustache shouldn't be hated.
it was worn by many people before (you know who)

Charlie Chaplin, who said he thought it gave him a comical appearance, and others who include, but are not limited to:

when i was a little kid i would have a moustache made of toothpaste, it was never on purpose

It's kind of ridiculous looking. I'm split between saying it being taboo post-Hitler is a good thing, or whether its association with Nazism has ruined the fun in what could have been a light-hearted and silly historical fashion relic.

If it was just Chaplin etc I probably would have done one as a goof. But, I'm white and bald and just my 'wannabe Sons of Anarchy extra' goatee already makes me look racist as fuck, no need to step on that accelerator.

I dunno, it doesn't look that good as a normal facial hair style. I don't think it looked that great on the Austrian painter and I don't think it'd look that great on me, or you, either.

I’m physically unable to grow one because I have a gap when my facial hair grows out…looks a little silly though when setting the historical baggage aside.

Even if Hitler never existed, the toothbrush moustache would have faded into obscurity all the same just like mutton chops. People wearing it today would not be suspected of being nazis but they would be mocked as hipsters.
If anything, I'd rather see more of the exact opposite, the Fu Manchu. On the right face with the right facial hair texture and the right length, it could conceivably be sexy.
