How so?

Some of the products sold in stores are different, different store chains, differences in politics, and differences in lifestyles. Eastern US has a plethora of different accents and dialects, Western US has some but not as many. The environment is quite different, especially when comparing the Southeast VS the Southwest.

I see. I thought the north-south dichotomy would be more of a thing.

Its there but the North is a flimsy concept as a region. The Midwest for example in many ways is more similar to the South than it is to the North East.

I think Pennsylvania has characteristics of both the Midwest and the Northeast. I agree there are significant differences, although I feel like lumping the mid-west with the south is as much a pop culture stereotype as a real underlying cultural and historical affiliation. But then again, I do see signs that the Midwest and western PA have become "southern-ized" to a certain extent simply do to the influence of mass media and pop culture.

Every part of the country has its own character.

Northeast (New England and such, some Canadian overlap), Southeast (the “South”, some overlap with the Caribbean), different parts of the Midwest (some of it is Germanic), the Pacific Northwest (forests and overlap with Canada), and the Southwest (overlap with Mexico and broader Latin America) are the big ones.

Some larger states have their own subregions, with Texas for instance being the intersection between the rolling plains of the Midwest, the hotter and drier Southwest, and the warmer and humid South. My own state has a division between the north (NorCal) and the south (SoCal).

There’s more specific regions such as the Navajo Nation in the Southwest and a hub of remnant French culture centered on New Orleans, but that’s getting detailed.

Texan food is nice imo. Which region produces the best food for you?

Absolutely not. It prevents overspending and it's good for privacy. It's strange that the more "German" regions of America aren't cash-only.

About even between the Southwest and Southeast. Also German-inspired foods from Pennsylvania and Texas.
