Earth being flat is not a theory, it is a scientific fact. It is round, because it is massive. Because it is massive, it has gravity. Gravity is a result of mass. If the Earth was flat, the horizon would not exist you would instead be able to see the back of your head simply by looking in the same general direction your head is in.

The Government needs it for a variety of things, the government does not make everything. It will need to purchase goods and raw materials off of private businesses.

Planets did not come from the same source. They all could have came from different sources which may explain their differences.
