If a fascist state can't take over the country or the government proper, the next best thing is a state within a state, a rebellion. Forment enough disorder, grow the agitating group large enough, and you have an army to work with. I'm not the leader for this, but I have hopes that one will come about that I can follow. The US as it stands, is not worth saving in many people's eyes. It is only empty consumerism and greed, with unlimited importation of people from the rest of the world. Not what I can truly consider a real country, the way it is going. Very much a society in terminal decline.

What to do, if there isn't a single location on Earth currently, where I'd be content? When changing location there is only an improvement or downgrade so far as amenities and resources, and how easy or difficult it is to establish yourself there.

So what you’re saying is everyone should change themselves to suit you. That’s pretty selfish snowflake behaviour.

The way to get to them is to impact them personally. As one extreme example, all of their employees have to just simultaneously stop working for them, their profits go down or are disrupted. They were freaking out at the COVID lockdowns because the chart line went down instead of up. That is all we need to do. Make it so they keep bleeding money.

In a similar fashion, the non-farmers are screwed if all of the farmers collectively decide not to sell produce anymore, and only grew enough to feed themselves.

Basic economics, the price of food would get so high, new farms would emerge to profit from the high demand
Meanwhile, the farmers who choose not to sell produce will no longer be able to fund their farms, as nowadays they require tons of expensive machinery on top of the paid labour
Not to mention many farmers are stuck in debt traps from large companies…

For one thing resources. Water, power and replacement housing.

Then you consider people will not be compensated for their property or at best the grossly devalued price.

It’s not worth really arguing as it won’t happen.

It’s not actually wacko however. “Don’t keep rebuilding in stupid places” is hardly terrible advice.

People lose money on property all the time. There’s a risk in “owning” it. Compensation is not an argument either.

I agree it won’t happen, but these are not the deranged thoughts of some lunatic, similar stuff has happened to poor people elsewhere in the country already.

The farmers can't do that because they need to sell extra food to make money to afford everything else they need in life.

Hopefully we'll find out. That's what investigations are for.

That's what GMS and everyone else clucking their tongues are missing for some reason.

We find out that Trump has boxes and boxes of papers he should have returned-holy shit, look into that. But Trump doesn't want that. Trump sycophants don't want that. So there's a debate, because you have Trump and Trump's surrogates saying that we shouldn't look into it, no big deal.

We find out that Biden had a dozen documents he should have returned but no one noticed until his lawyers found them, they were immediately reported to the archive and an investigation as to why there were there in the first place (as well as why no one noticed for six years) opens. Good, look into that. There is no 'other side' to this. Unless GMS is saying he doesn't want this investigated.

So what is he trying to argue here? What does he think we oppose? Is it just the relative benefit of the doubt Biden is getting? Because the behavior in the wake of it earns that since at the moment it doesn't appear like he's trying to hide anything or impede an investigation. When he does, we'll likely condemn that but we're not there yet.

So this is just sound and fury signalling nothing.

There are clear distinctions between the two cases: Biden didn't obstruct and is cooperating; Trump attempted to hide and obstruct and barely is cooperating. But Biden and others still have to answer regardless as the case is now being reviewed by a Trump-Appointed Attorney from Chicago.

Speaking of the contents, it is said to be US intelligence memos and briefing materials that covered topics including Ukraine, Iran and the United Kingdom from 2013-2016. So, it appears there might be some sensitive stuff here.

Of course, the GOP have to feel emboldened by this, but I do feel - barring any major changes - Biden will be off the hook, which will make the GOP livid, and play in their hands that they are being "discriminated and targeted". My only worry is how often this has happened with other predecessors...

Yes. Until there is a trial, we have no idea of the circumstances surrounding your killing that person. Did he threaten you, making it self-defense, for example?

Innocent until proven guilty is a concept many people espouse, but few really believe in.

Not at all. I am all in favor of arresting insurrectionists or any other alleged criminal immediately. What I am opposed to is the incarceration of them pre-trial, which his post seemed to imply was a good thing.

Yes he is a wacko. People live in inhospitable areas all the time. There are ways to control the flooding. That takes effort and money. Why solve a problem when you can do the minimal and pocket the rest.

When you are guided only by "I, Me, Mine" it's easy to say just do this and it sucks to the be them. There is this thing called a sense of community.

Then again; there are those who like to make edgy comments especially when they don't own land or whatever.

If someone suggests that a list of crimes he has been charged with is long, when he has not been charged with any crimes, it seems to need clarification.

Re-read my last comment:

Ok. What has trump been charged with? Make 2 lists. One for the political charges and one for the legal violations.

Political charges are not official charges and thus don't need clarification. Political charges for the most part can't be taken seriously as they tend to be more about get people unhappy then declaring an actual legal violation. The Jan 6th people will be declared biased and what not by the trumpests. This is fun. What will matter is what the DoJ will do with what was submitted.

Now the legal violations? I didn't expect to get any. You have to have the ability to think "my guy" can do things which would make them guilty of something.
