i try to avoid procedural step reporting bc most of the time it's not important but in this case it is bc both sides can't agree on amendments (in this case, the key dispute comes from an amendment from Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), who wants a vote on his amendment to extend Title 42 at a 50-vote threshold)
schumer filing cloture means either they reach a deal on votes Thursday or there’s a Friday vote where 10 Republicans s will have to vote with the Dems to break a filibuster to advance the bill
Speaking of immigration, ive only just gave a cursory glance through some of its contents thus far, but I didnt see anything mentioned about border security programs- aside from the vote to extend title 42.
Is there any significant spending being allocated to USBP, ICE, or CBP? I Ask assuming that you've looked into the bill more depth.

$1.5 billion to CBP, $3.6 billion to ICE (who isn’t allowed to use it for detention)
Anyway, voting on the omnibus started this morning, 5 amendment votes have been held so far, 3 of them failed

Wait what? Covid funds for roads? News said covid is adding to overloading hospitals again for end of year bugs. Flu, rvs, and covid…..
whatThe Russian assets? That seems like a future problem.
Filing fees? How is that going to “discourage” such actions?
Also moving to whatever jurisdiction?……that’s a big bonus for corporations.

Oh my god, it is so telling that this gets no response. Liberals looove their Apple and their Amazon and the fact that they're profiting from what is objectively exploitation gets neatly ignored. Not to say that I'm exempt but c'mon. Don't engage in corporate worship. It's like the World Cup. Everyone complained about discrimination and gay rights and took the knee for racism, meanwhile the stadiums and facilities were built through the labor of dozens of thousands of indentured servants, thousands of whom died. Be slightly consistent.

If you make something more expensive to do less people will do it
Also the money extracted will fund the DOJ/FTC antitrust divisions

Which is…why the bill stops that

Jab at liberals? *snore*
If you had left out the liberal stuff and focused on the issues mentioned, it would have been more interesting.

what
I can see this happening to American assets in other countries. Retaliation is easy.

No, my point is liberals specifically have their little touchstone issues but anything that could implicate them as being the bad guys they jump through hoops to avoid mentioning.
I didn't see Qatari sheikhs take a knee during the World Cup. That's because they don't give a shit about human suffering, nor do they pretend to. That's consistent. Liberals profess to be compassionate while they actually sit in the most privileged positions.

It’s only easy if you ignore things like “power differential” and “reasoning”

And what does that accomplish? Owning them? You mentioned valid issues. Why not talk about what should be done versus “oh those libs”?
