A quick scan through her Wiki page and tbh the most interesting thing I found about her was that her family originates from Russian Jewish immigrants...other than that, RIP her Campaign.

If the progressive base shows up this time it will be fo Williamson. Now, will they show up? Given the state of the left it's honestly unlikely. But I might as well remain optimistic so as to avoid creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Just because she represents a position left of Biden does not mean she can beat him. I’m probably left of Biden and would not win if I ran in the DNC primary.

She also needs to get on the ballot and there needs to be some amount of grassroots organizing, yes. Neither of which are guaranteed to happen, but they aren't impossible either.

She's a lunatic.

Even if true, not something that prevents one from becoming president.

Consider it. M4A would prevent tens of thousands of deaths each year and costs substantially less than the current system.

And what about those (like, for example, me) who are very much satisfied with their current insurance company and would see this as a downgrade?

The Google algorithm isn't predictable that way. Results vary by user. Williamson is the first result for "Williamson" for me, but Dubya is the second result for "Bush", after the band.

Nah, mate. I got BCBS FEP and GEHA. We (my family) make pretty low payments monthly and get most stuff paid for. My younger brother's getting braces worth $5,000 and we only pay $1,500, iirc, in payments. When I got stabbed in an unfortunate accident outside, we barely paid anything.

Meanwhile my maternal grandmother, whose 70 years old and is on Medicare, had cancer and got screwed over.

I can definitely see the need for reform, this stuff is ridiculous, but I am very much happy with the family's own insurance.

Edit: From 2005 to 2009 (my birth to my dad's discharge), I was covered by TRICARE and it was good acc. to my parents too.

A universal healthcare system for the US would actually see your insurance costs decrease greatly.

I'm glad that you can afford what you're paying now. It's still higher than it needs to be because of the profit motive. Remember that tens of thousands of people each year can't afford what you can and die as a result.

Medicare for All involves expanding and improving the existing Medicare system as well.

I understand the situation, which is why I want reform, but if such a thing occurred, I'd like the option to keep my plan or at least get an equivalent deal, or an even better one.

If you look at Europe, you'd get a better understanding on how single payer would actually be better than even the best insurance here.
