So what? If that’s who people want to vote for who are you to judge? It sounds like you want term limits because you disapprove of how people vote.

You know, dictators have term limits as well...it is called death.

And while I don't like the petty, vindictive motives that the Republican Congress had for pushing for the 22nd Amendment, I believe that it was a healthy thing for our republic that Presidents don't serve longer than eight years. It certainly reduces the risk of autocracy, though sadly doesn't go far enough to prevent it.

Inside a partisan primary, that's true. But poll after poll consistently showed him having a lot of appeal with independents that he didn't necessarily have with highly partisan Democrats like yourself. So his lower stats inside primaries (which still had him at the lead for most of the primary season in 2020) didn't necessarily translate to a poor showing with a general electorate.

This is your opinion. You have no way of knowing if that appeal would have remained once nominated.

If anything, I think that it would have grown, both because of Bernie's wit, energy, intelligence, charisma, and ultimately, his vision and his message for the country. Truly inspirational, a rare man, and one that we were cheated of due to party machine chicanery.

Given that most of the South is poor people, that's a lot of self-hatred. I live in Texas. Many great, wonderful people, warm, caring, etc. But full of harmful myths and false narratives that trap them in the neo-feudalist type of corporate stratification of our Second Gilded Age.

While you know I am an economic Libertarian Republican and I strongly support ending all grocery taxes, according to this article, Repealing the tax has been difficult. The tax provides hundreds of millions of dollars to the state’s education budget, and previous efforts at repeal have floundered on questions of how or whether to replace that revenue.

But Alabama's Republican Governor Kay Ivey posted this on her twitter account on Alabama s Tornado Season:
As we head into peak tornado season, Alabamians should remain weather aware and prepared. I encourage our citizens to utilize the Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday this weekend to stock up on necessary severe weather supplies.
