I'll throw my hat in the ring.

First I'll acknowledge the fact that yes, the world isn't flooded and we're all living in Mad Max.

But nonetheless this is the problem, climate change is slow and gradual but if we decide it is top priority when it truly threatens us it will be to late.

If you have an issue today but you know nothing will happen until later you might not do it, right? But when it does affect you, you need to do it but at the same time it will be still hurting you in the long run. That's why it's top priority now so then it doesn't hurt us in the future.

You mean the things that are wrong close to half the time, because some symptoms of weather are trackable, a lot of it is randomness? This is my 7th year in Florida, and each year an enormous hurricane was predicted to hit Boca. It only had anywhere near the damage predicted twice.
