The problem is that people don't vote, or vote for absurdly stupid parties like UKIP as protest votes.

The left orientated votes and the left orientated seats (being not the same thing) still outnumbered the right leaning ones.

A major problem with the BNP is that people simply will not trust them; they've been caught on video explaining that they will "soften" the more unfashionable (and to my mind, wrong) policies (namely, white nationalism), and talk about identity and culture, instead.

He also tried to make the Tories seem more left leaning - support the NHS, be more green, stuff like that.
