Hello foodies of NSG! I see there isn't a thread to discuss food on here, so I made one. This is for sharing and discussing anything related to food. Sharing what your favorite food is, debates on age-old food questions (is cereal a soup? is a hot dog a sandwich? does pineapple belong on pizza?), places you have visited with great food, so on and so forth.

My takes on the aforementioned 'food debates' are: cereal isn't a soup (it just isn't), hot dogs are not sandwiches(the bread is connected thus disqualifying it as a sandwich), and pineapple definitely does not belong on pizza (that's just insane).

my general position on the topic is I support it. I am a big fan of food in all its variety, except bugs I ain't eating those.

I donot mind people eating pineapple on pizza (just joke about it), but I still find it weird. It’s so cold and eck

Alfredo sauce is a pasta sauce, not a pizza sauce. Pizza sauce is- well, I don't know actually, I always assumed it was tomato sauce of some kind.

Well, then what is the white sauce that they put on all the best pizza?

Basically a roux. It's flour, milk, butter and garlic. Top it with fresh basil and tomato slices and you have the best pizza.

I'm the opposite. I love tomato products and such, but tomato sauce on pasta and pizza is not a hit for me, whatsoever

Today I was shocked to discover the main ingredient of one of the dishes my country is famous for are mostly imported and is subsidized by the government. (The ingredient is soyabeans)

I am not unitarian when it comes to food. From Snails to Sushi I celebrate the diversity of all food types.

Typical pizza sauce in my experience runs a gamut of spaghetti sauce and marina in flavor depending upon the chef.
I love chicken Alfredo, spinach Alfredo, angel hair Alfredo with asparagus, and have made my own pizza versions of all of them.

Please, pineapple isn't even the worst ingredient on Hawaiian pizza.

Pineapple deserves to be on pizza, but I'll pass on the ham and the sauce.
