I have seen this trend appearing amongst many westerners in the recent years. Previously that was not there, its a very big change in political and social culture that has happened in the past 7-8 years or so.

This is my first time hearing about "political tribalism". Can you explain what your label does to the message I conveyed in response to the OP?

I personally was Conservative.
But now I'm liberal, yet I'm still finding myself siding with right wingers than anything on the left.
I am Non Religious. Gay rights allowed, Pro border (unless through marriage than they are a citizen no matter where in the world), Legalizing Polygamy. Legalizing Drug Use, and Lgbtq Rights. Yet I still find myself against the Democrat Establishment. I mean it's not that hard to believe. Democrats ran the south in the past and was Pro Slavery.-

I think the Internet isn't Radicalizing people. It's letting people find out what's true and what isn't.

Basically people not caring about the actual arguments another "side" is presenting, but rather resorting to a version of tribalism ("me side good, they side bad" type of shit). So, a [insert member of political tribe here] yelling "ALL [members of opposing political tribe] SHOULD DIE!" would be considered "political tribalism", which it seems you described through encounters with certain leftists.

Apologies. I am not of a higher-education, and I mean to convey that term endearingly. I got my GED in 2018 and am generally self-taught in most social issues. Most of the education I did receive up to grade 12 (which is when I originally dropped out due to family death) was very, drastically different than what I am conveyed is being taught now. It has been an interesting process, for example, to adapt to making sure I ask people their preferred pronouns or what gender they'd appreciate being termed as.

I remember my grandparents, how kind they were, and how they wondered at us. And I think now I understand that wonder, haha.

But yes, my original question rephrased. How does your expression help convey what I stated? Help me understand.

I see! So what I've experienced is the bad side of these groups rather than the norm. I appreciate the clarification. I admit my experiences have made me cautious somewhat to political debate, for example, out of fear of further altercations. Perhaps I have been influenced negatively in that regard? I used to be one of those edgy right-wingers because at the time I thought it was cool and counterculture and I only got out of it when I found God and converted to Judaism. Funny how those things end up. I guess the first time I was "radicalized" was when I was just lonely and watching Louder With Crowder but I was never on 4chan except for like once after the election in 2020. Nowadays I'd say I'm pretty much in the center. There are ways out of it but the person in question has to realize it and they usually don't.
TL;DR: Was radicalized on YT, not right-wing anymore, there is a way out it's just not easy.

Very similar experience though for me it was GamerGate (which I still agree with too an extent).

That’s what got me into the alt right... I finally left it after I saw what damage it caused ^{(and still is causing)}, how much it ^{(along with standard authoritarian conservatism)} fuels boomers’ horrific mentality.

Meh, being from the south myself. I dislike racial divides. Red Lining is a serious problem for northerners aswell.

Certain Christians believe God Made Evolution a Thing so things could change.

Mostly the Concept of a God is a Moral Goal for those who wish to Follow a Good Belief and feeling down on themselves.
