May she rest in peace. With her death, an era might as well have ended. I for one am curious whether Prince Charles (King Charles III? Has he selected a regnal name yet?) will manage to keep the monarchy intact for his own successor.

Charles will ascend to the throne, likely not under that name unless he's feeling cheeky. Were he to want it to pass over him, he needed to announce that before this happened and it is now his duty to preserve the continuity of the British Monarchy. He could still abdicate, but not until after all the fuss.

Her son, Charles. I believe he may be titled either Charles III or George the VII. Depends on his regnal name. The name Charles may not be appealing though because Charles' have a bad history as kings in the U.K. Charles I was executed and Charles II was promiscuous. Charles the III was a king that usurped and was basically a joke so there's no official Charles III (yet)
