Federal judges can't be fired. They can only be removed via impeachment by Congress.

Imagine not making it mandatory that judges have to retire when they're 70

In this country, it almost certain to have massive loopholes or get watered down at a later date.

We have politicians who are literally downing lots of dementia medications so it does not surprise me that a proposal for an age limit would be dead on arrival. Many people (especially boomers), would rather die in office than retire, so they don't give up power.

It wouldn't matter, biased judges aren't biased because they're old.

Obviously, but we live in such a post-modern era that far too many of the American people seem to think there is one.

Age limits on holding office is a very clear example of going after the symptom instead of the problem. If you had a better selection process then new faces would be brought in naturally.

If it serves a narrative that has large political backing, it becomes "on par" with the truth.

Which is why Australia also has an independent body that elects the High Court judges rather than having the President choosing whoever he wants and getting the Senate to have their inputs

According to what I could find, High Court judges in Australia are nominated by the Prime Minister, and then appointed by the Governor-General. Neither of those people seem to be independent.

Even if it doesn't it would take half a century if every new car bought replaced an ICE car to replace all the ICE cars. Most of the people who flood the facebook pages with boomer memes about EV cars and the change will be long long dead by the time the ICE car goes away entirely. If it actually does.

Well, eventually it will one way or another.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.
